TV RIGHTS CLIPS 2: Bundesliga, football and snooker

Football:  British Sky Broadcasting issued a tender last week to UK broadcasters for the rights to screen eight Premier League matches a season.  Its asking price is said to be £20m (€30m) a year for the games, which are expected to be fourth-choice matches, kicking off at 5.15pm on Saturdays.  Both the BBC and ITV are said to be interested.  BSkyB, which paid £1.024bn for Premier League rights for the next three years, was forced to sell on the eight matches by the European Commission.
