Football: France’s football league, the Ligue de Football Professionnel, sold the domestic rights to the top division, Ligue 1, for four years, 2012-13 to 2015-16, to pay-television operator Canal Plus and Qatari satellite broadcaster Al Jazeera for a combined €510m ($729m) per season (see story this issue).
