ABC offers network coverage for LPGA season finale

US network ABC has struck a deal to broadcast the final round of the last event of the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s 2015 LPGA Tour season.

The season-ending CME Group Tour Championship takes place from November 19-22 at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

ABC will broadcast live coverage of the event’s final round on November 22. The LPGA said the event will be presented with limited commercial interruptions through the backing of tournament title sponsor CME Group.

LPGA commissioner Mike Whan said: “Combining our incredible Golf Channel weekly coverage, with a steady diet of network opportunities, is a critical component to our continued growth. This way we can not only reach our core audience, but also capture the casual fan, that may not be aware of the incredible stories taking place on the LPGA.”

The first three rounds of the Championship will be broadcast on pay-television broadcaster Golf Channel in the US, with ESPN producing the coverage.
