ABS-CBN to show top European football

Filipino media company ABS-CBN has struck a sublicensing deal with Thailand-based media company Triple CH to show free-to-air coverage of three of football’s top competitions.

ABS-CBN will have rights in the Philippines for the English Premier League, Spain’s LaLiga and the Uefa Champions League. The broadcaster will show live coverage of games.

Triple CH had previously acquired rights for the three tournaments in a deal with beIN Media Group.

The deal will be activated on December 2 with the Premier League match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool, with coverage of LaLiga beginning on December 3 and coverage of the Champions League starting on December 6.
