Fisu, the governing body of international university sport, has awarded media rights to the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union for the 2013 editions of the Summer Universiade and Winter Universiade multi-sport events.
The ABU said that the agreement comprises television rights and non-exclusive internet and mobile rights for the majority of ABU Sport Group members.
The agreement marks the first time that Fisu has awarded the rights on a collective basis to the ABU, but the federation will still enter into individual rights deals with certain Asian countries.
The 2013 Summer Universiade will take place in Kazan, Russia from July 6-17, with the Winter Universiade following in Trentino, Italy from December 11-21.
