Australian Football League (AFL) chief executive Gillon McLachlan is expected to delay his impending departure from the organisation in order address a number of unresolved issues, according to reports.

The Nine Entertainment-owned Australian Financial Review reports the 49-year-old is likely to remain in the role until next year despite earlier this year announcing he will leave the AFL at the end of the 2022 season.
