US and Latin American broadcaster Alterna’TV acquired exclusive rights in Puerto Rico for baseball’s Caribbean Series in a three-year deal, from 2012 to 2014.
The Caribbean Series is an annual competition between the Winter League champions from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Alterna’TV will broadcast coverage on sports channel Latin American Sports (LAS). LAS will show all 12 games in the series and a daily highlights programme.
This year’s series takes place in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, from February 2 to 9. Mexico will host the 2013 tournament and Venezuela the 2014 edition.
