AMC scores Champions League extension in Hungary

AMC Networks International – Central Europe, the central European division of US entertainment company AMC Networks, has agreed a three-year extension to its rights to European club football competition the Uefa Champions League in Hungary.

The contract with Uefa, European football’s governing body, covers the 2015-16 to 2017-18 seasons of the Champions League, with the Sport1 and Sport2 channels providing live coverage of over 60 matches per season.

The new agreement represents a three-fold increase in the number of live games provided versus the current contract.

After a nine-year hiatus, AMCNI CE secured the return of the Champions League to the Sport1 and Sport2 channels under a deal signed in 2012 which covered the 2012-13 to 2014-15 seasons.
