Amaury Sport Organisation has struck a long-term deal to produce and distribute coverage of cycling’s Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.
The deal, which will run for five years, from 2017 to 2021, also includes the management of sponsorship rights.
ASO is a leading promoter in cycling, operating events such as the Tour de France.
The event, which is operated by Club Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Associació Esportiva and supported by the government of Catalonia, is the third oldest stage race in the world after the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia.
This year’s event got underway yesterday (Monday). Colombia's Nairo Quintana (pictured) is the defending champion.
