The NBC Sports Group division of US media company NBCUniversal has secured media rights for the Association of Volleyball Professionals Pro Beach Volleyball Tour.
AVP tournaments will be televised on NBC and NBC Sports Network, alongside live streaming via the NBC Sports Live Extra platform.
The agreement returns AVP events to network television in the US and has been claimed as the most comprehensive media partnership in the tour’s history, including broadcast, cable and digital components for the first time.
There will be 17.5 hours of coverage in 2015 from May to September across NBC and NBCSN, alongside the live streaming element. Coverage will include the men’s and women’s finals of all seven regular-season tournaments.
