Bangladesh Premier League cricket agrees more broadcast deals

Sporty Solutionz, the agency appointed by satellite broadcaster Channel 9 Bangladesh, global rights-holder of the Bangladesh Premier League, agreed deals in a number of territories for rights to the Twenty20 cricket competition.

Pakistani pay-television broadcaster Geo TV signed a three-year deal for 2012 to 2014. Commercial broadcaster Maharaja TV (Sri Lanka), pay-television broadcaster Supersport (South Africa), and CricOne (west Asia), all agreed one-year deals for the inaugural season of the competition, which is currently underway in Bangladesh.

A deal was also agreed in the UK, with NTV UK, the Bengali satellite television channel which is available on the Sky platform.

Last week, pan-regional sports broadcaster ESPN Star Sports agreed a three-year deal for 2012 to 2014.
