Bayern Munich adds latest US partner with Univision Deportes deal

Spanish-language US broadcaster Univision Deportes has agreed a content partnership with German Bundesliga football club Bayern Munich.

The length of the deal was not disclosed, but the agreement reportedly calls for Univision Deportes to air a Spanish-language version of the German champion’s FCB.tv platform, as well as replays of Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Uefa Champions League matches.

The latest deal comes after Bayern last month signed a US content partnership with Microsoft’s web portal MSN.

Under the agreement, the club will provide MSN with exclusive video and editorial content. Bayern claimed the tie-up represented a first by stating it will be the maiden sports team to boast a dedicated presence within MSN’s American output.

In April last year, Bayern Munich opened its first overseas office in New York.
