BBC nets record Wimbledon online traffic, peak of 7.5m viewers for men’s final

The BBC’s coverage of this year’s Wimbledon set a new record for online viewing figures, with the UK public-service broadcaster stating that the tennis grand slam was streamed 53.8 million times on the BBC iPlayer and online.

The figure beats the previous high of 30.5 million, which was set during last year’s tournament.
