BBC renews ATP World Tour Finals rights

UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has renewed its rights for ATP World Tour Finals tennis for a further two years, from 2012 to 2013.

Under the new agreement, the BBC will show one live match from each day of the week-long tournament, including the opening match, one semi-final and the final.

The BBC has shown the event since its relocation to The O2 arena in London in 2009, from previous host location Shanghai. London has hosted the event every year since then, and will also host it in 2012 and 2013.

The finals are the season-ending tournament on the men’s professional tennis tour. They incorporate a singles competition featuring the top eight ranked singles players, and a doubles competition featuring the top eight ranked doubles teams.
