BBC saddles up fresh deal with Badminton Horse Trials

UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has renewed a rights agreement for the Badminton Horse Trials equestrian event.

The four-year extension will cover the 2017-2020 editions of the event, which takes place at Badminton Park in Gloucestershire, England.

The agreement grants the BBC live television coverage of the Sunday events, while cross-country events on Saturdays will be available via the interactive Red Button service.

This year’s event began yesterday (Wednesday) and concludes on Sunday. Saturday’s cross-country events will be available on the Red Button and via the BBC Sport website. A highlights programme will be broadcast on the BBC Two channel on Sunday before live coverage begins of the show jumping finale, which will also be streamed online.

The BBC has broadcast the Badminton Horse Trials for 60 years.
