BBC signs Davis Cup rights deal

UK public service broadcaster the BBC has acquired rights for all of the Great Britain national team’s matches in the World Group elite stage of the Davis Cup men’s international tennis tournament.

The broadcaster has signed a three-year deal, from 2014 to 2016.

The BBC will begin its coverage later this month, starting with the World Group first round tie between the GB Davis Cup Team and the USA. The tie will commence on January 31 and end on February 2. Coverage will be shown on the BBC Two and BBC Three channels.

The 2014 Davis Cup marks the first occasion since 2008 that the GB Davis Cup Team has reached the World Group stage of the tournament.
