BBL secures further exposure with FreeSports deal

UK free-to-air digital television channel FreeSports has agreed to broadcast live coverage of the British Basketball League.

FreeSports will show 15 games during the remainder of the 2017-18 season across a number of platforms. FreeSports will broadcast one game per week.

Coverage will begin with the BBL Cup Final on January 28.

FreeSports brokered the deal with Perform, the digital sports content and media group that holds the rights to the BBL.

Bob Hope, commercial director at the BBL, said: “The additional exposure this provides will give the British Basketball League unprecedented media coverage, substantially increasing our viewing audience of League games and adding further to our commercial appeal.”
