BeIN Media Group has confirmed the acquisition of DP Acquisitions, the holding company of Turkish pay-television broadcaster Digiturk, a major sports broadcaster.
The deal was first reported in late 2014, with the Bloomberg news agency reporting more than a year ago that it could be worth up to $1.5bn (€1.3bn).
“This acquisition represents the largest deal in the history of our group and a major milestone in our global expansion,” beIN Media Group chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.
