BeIN Sport set for Philippines launch

Al Jazeera-owned pay-television broadcaster beIN Sport will continue its expansion into the Asian market tomorrow with the launch of two channels on Filipino cable television provider SkyCable.

Filipino sports fans will be offered the first ever 24-hour channel covering the English Premier League in the Philippines – beIN Sport 3 Premier League HD – in addition to other live football from Italy’s Serie A, Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 on beIN Sport 2 HD. A third channel, beIN Sport 1 HD, will be launched in the coming months.

Besides football content, the channels will also offer basketball content such as Spain’s Liga Endesa and events from the Olympic Council of Asia.

The launch of beIN Sport in the Philippines extends the broadcaster’s development in Asia, following Indonesia’s launch in July, and last week’s announcement to launch in Hong Kong on November 1.
