Sports media and technology company Supponor has appointed Roger Hall, currently managing director of pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports for the Middle East and Africa, as its new chief executive.

Hall will join Supponor at the start of May when he will move back to the UK and be based at the company’s headquarters in London.

Chris Buckley, current chief executive of Supponor, will become a non-executive director and continue to consult to the company on its international development while developing his other business interests and investments.

Hall said: “Supponor is a unique and exciting opportunity to revolutionise the way brands interact with live sport. I’m delighted to be joining the Supponor team to lead the next phase of development as we become an international media business operating at the heart of the world’s most important sports properties.”

Hall was previously with Setanta Sports where he had a central role in developing the pay-television broadcaster’s UK operations before taking over the international business unit in 2006. Prior to joining Setanta, he launched and was chief executive of European pay-television channel the North American Sports Network.
