Benfica TV acquires Brazilian football league rights

Benfica TV, the basic-tier channel owned by the Portuguese football club, has acquired rights for the Campeonato Série A, the top-tier Brazilian football league.

Benfica TV acquired the rights from Brazilian media group Globo. The deal began on Sunday, with the broadcast of the Santos v Corinthians and Vasco de Gama v Flamengo fixtures. The broadcaster will show 82 matches in total.

The Brazilian league is almost half way through its current season.
