BetMGM adds live sports streaming armed with football and tennis

US online sports betting platform BetMGM has begun offering live streams of sports events as a means of enhancing its service in the rapidly developing US gambling market.

BetMGM is specifically focusing on tennis and soccer content, with the former including men’s ATP Tour events and the French Open grand slam. BetMGM is also offering soccer content such as the English Championship and EFL Cup; Scottish Premiership; Dutch Eredivisie; Danish Superliga; Polish Ekstraklasa; and the Czech First League. International betting rights to the properties are sold by IMG Arena.

Ray Doyle, director of digital media at Roar Digital, operator of BetMGM, told the Front Office Sports website that the rights were acquired from a variety of sources. He added: “All we can say right now is that there are a wide variety of options we’re considering for how to enhance our live-streamed sports content.

“We plan to grow the number and types of sports events live-streamed. The events that are currently available… make it among the leading providers of live sports streaming in mobile betting, and we’re just getting started.”

To watch, users have to register on the BetMGM app and make a deposit in their account, which then allows them to stream in-app or via a browser. A quick bet function will allow for in-play bets while watching the live streams.

Doyle added: “We know that high-quality, live sports content dramatically enhances the in-play betting experience, and we wanted users to be able to watch and enjoy sporting events from around the world conveniently within the BetMGM app.”

“We’re confident that adding to our live video content offering provides a unique user experience and can ultimately set BetMGM’s platform apart from the rest.”
