The organisers of Birmingham’s 2022 Commonwealth Games, which get under way this evening with the opening ceremony, expect to soon surpass the ticket sales total registered at Glasgow 2014 and are also confident about meeting commercial revenue targets.
Speaking to journalists today (Thursday) at Arena Birmingham, the gymnastics host venue during the multi-sport event, organisers said they are “on track” to be the best attended Commonwealth Games ever in the UK.
