British horse racing secures Indian exposure

Mumbai-based company Delta Lifestyle and Entertainment has acquired the exclusive Indian media rights to 22 British horse races per year in a deal running through to 2016.

The contract includes television, internet and mobile rights. Indian pay-television broadcaster Neo Sports will broadcast the races under the terms of the deal.

Delta Lifestyle and Entertainment managing director Mohit Lalvani said the agreement includes 22 of the “best races” each year and is designed to complement domestic horse racing.

The 10 race meetings included under the deal will start in May each year with the Guineas weekend and end with the British Champions Day at Ascot in October.
