BT Sport, Eurosport joint venture signed off by UK regulator

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has approved a joint venture agreement between telecoms company BT and media group Warner Bros. Discovery in the UK and Ireland, which will combine pay-television broadcaster BT Sport with the latter’s sports broadcaster, Eurosport UK.

The decision has been welcomed by BT Group and Warner Bros. Discovery, which will complete the creation of a 50:50 joint venture company in the coming weeks. Each of their assets will be transferred into the new company.
