Pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has confirmed it has extended its rights in the UK and Ireland to Ligue 1, the top division of French club football.
The new three-season deal will run from 2018-19 to 2020-21 and also encompasses the Coupe de la Ligue knockout competition.
BT Sport will show up to five live and exclusive Ligue 1 matches every weekend, as well as a weekly preview and highlights show.
The Ligue 1 deal comes after BT Sport last month lost rights to Italy’s Serie A. International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports landed the rights in the UK and Ireland for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
