BT Sport signs wide-ranging deal with PSA

UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has agreed a multi-year broadcast and marketing partnership with the Professional Squash Association.

Coming into effect immediately, the agreement will see BT Sport televise coverage from all PSA World Series tournaments, including the showpiece World Championship.

BT Sport will offer UK squash fans live coverage of World Series semi-final and final encounters, with other select matches also to be aired. The broadcaster will also show extended tournament highlights to enhance their coverage of the PSA World Tour.

Under the deal brokered by rights and production agency Broadreach Media, BT Sport will also receive extensive branding at all UK-based PSA events.

PSA chief executive Alex Gough said: “With the recent announcement regarding a merger between the WSA (Women’s Squash Association) and PSA, aligned with our new three-year World Series tournament structure, the next few years promise to be an exciting time for squash and we feel that BT are a perfect partner for us in  that journey.”

The UK boasts a host of leading squash players including three-time men's world champion Nick Matthew and 2013 women's world champion Laura Massaro (pictured).
