BT Sport to produce Champions League coverage in-house

UK telecommunications company BT will produce the BT Sport pay-television channel’s coverage of the Uefa Champions League club football tournament in-house, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Production company Sunset and Vine currently heads up BT Sport’s football coverage.

BT Sport acquired exclusive rights for all European club football, including the Champions League and Uefa Europa League, for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

Sunset and Vine will continue to produce BT Sport’s coverage of the English Premier League and FA Cup club tournaments.

Delia Bushell, managing director of BT TV and BT Sport, said that “some key senior production personnel” would be hired to supplement the broadcaster’s existing team.
