BT Sport to set Facebook first for NBA London game

UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport will simulcast today’s (Thursday’s) NBA basketball clash in London between the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers on social media platform Facebook, along with providing free-to-air coverage via its BT Sport Showcase channel.

The NBA Global Games London 2017 game will be offered live to fans across the UK on BT Sport’s Facebook page, along with the North American league’s page on the platform in the UK, on BT Sport Showcase and via pay-television operator Virgin Media.

It is the first time an NBA game will be shown live on Facebook in the UK. Fans will be able to watch the game from The O2 arena in London beginning at 8pm GMT, in addition to BT Sport’s live television coverage at the same time on BT Sport 2.

The Facebook stream will feature the league’s NBA Mobile View feed, delivering a closer shot of the action optimised for viewing on the smaller screens of tablets and phones.

BT Sport is the NBA’s rights-holder in the UK and Ireland through to 2017-18 and broadcasts up to seven live games per week throughout the regular season.
