Canal Plus partners with Ivory Coast’s Ligue 1

Pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus has agreed a five-season deal with the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football for rights to Ligue 1, the top division of domestic football in the Ivory Coast.

Under the contract, which runs from 2016-17 to 2020-21, Canal Plus will broadcast the main games from each round of the league on its sports channels throughout the 23 African countries in which it operates.

Canal Plus said the partnership will also focus on enhancing the production of matches through financial, technical and editorial assistance.

The Ligue 1 season runs from November to August and the league comprises 14 teams. AS Tanda is the reigning champion.
