Pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus has acquired the domestic broadcast and production rights for events run by the Fédération Française d’Athlétisme, the French athletics federation, in a four-year deal, from 2013 to 2016.
The rights include International Association of Athletics Federations Diamond League meetings at the Stade de France in Saint Denis, the annual DécaNation track and field meeting, the Pro Athlé Tour series of events in France, and national indoor and outdoor championships.
“I am very satisfied with this agreement, especially given the brilliant performances of the French athletes in London,” Canal Plus’s director of sport, Cyril Linette, told French newspaper L’Équipe.
