CBC strikes late Commonwealth Games rights deal

Canadian public-service broadcaster CBC has acquired exclusive rights to the 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games multi-sport event, which will take place in the English city of Birmingham from July 28 to August 8.

As part of the agreement, CBC will provide comprehensive broadcast and streaming coverage of the event, including 10 hours of coverage as part of CBC Sports’ weekend programming. Six daily streaming feeds will also be available on CBC Gem, the CBC Sports website and the CBC Sports app, with news updates to be provided across the broadcaster’s digital and social media platforms.
