CBS extends bowling rights deal

The CBS Sports division of US network CBS has retained rights to a host of major bowling events through an agreement with the United States Bowling Congress.

CBS will show the 2018 U.S. Open as well as the 2018 Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour majors USBC Queens, U.S. Women’s Open, PWBA Players Championship and PWBA Tour Championship as part of the agreement, which extends to the 2019 season.

The finals of three standard 2018 PWBA Tour events will receive live coverage, along with the final six events of the Tour season.

CBS’s coverage of the 2018 season will begin with the women’s finals of the Intercollegiate Singles Championship on April 24, which will be followed by the ISC men’s finals, Intercollegiate Team Championships women’s finals and the ITC men’s finals. The season will close with the live finals of the U.S. Open on October 31 next year.

CBS’s coverage will extend to the Junior Gold Championships and USA Bowling National Championship youth events.
