Cricket Australia signs Apple TV partnership

Cricket Australia has expanded the reach of its video content with the launch of its Cricket.com.au platform on digital media player Apple TV.

Cricket Australia on Apple TV will give fans free and immediate access to the latest news and features, extended highlights from every day of international cricket played in Australia this summer, as well as footage from the archives.

Behind the scenes feature videos including current stars and legends like Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist will also be provided, along with cricket skills tutorials from the likes of George Bailey, Nathan Lyon and women’s team star Ellyse Perry.

Ben Amarfio, executive general manager of media, communications and marketing for Cricket Australia, said: “This latest innovation, another product from Cricket Australia’s digital partnership with the Nine Entertainment Company, demonstrates our dedication to bringing fans closer to the cricket action via any platform and thus expanding and enhancing their digital cricket experience.”

The agreement comes ahead of the start of a one day international tri-series featuring Australia, England and India. The warm-up series for Australia’s hosting of the forthcoming 2015 World Cup begins on Friday as the host nation takes on England in Sydney.
