The Eurosport France division of pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport has acquired exclusive rights for the France v Canada women’s national football team friendly match tomorrow (Thursday) evening, according to news website En Plein Lucarne.
Eurosport France acquired the rights from commercial broadcaster D8, which is owned by Canal Plus.
In March, D8 was outbid by digital-terrestrial television broadcaster W9 for the domestic rights for France team’s games at the Women’s Euro 2013 football tournament.
D8 has a deal to show all France women’s team games and the France U-21 men’s matches, outside the major tournaments, in an agreement that will expire in 2014.
