Danish sports channel nets wider Canal Digital distribution

Canal Digital, the Danish pay-TV platform, has added Sport Live, a channel that focuses on smaller sports properties in Denmark, to its package structure.

Sport Live broadcasts sports such as basketball, canoeing, horse racing and table tennis, along with action from 2. Division, the third-tier football league in Denmark.

The channel launched earlier this year and has said it is looking to reach around 30,000 new satellite customers through the Canal Digital tie-up.

The channel was formed after Danish media company F3 Mediagroup bought Dantoto Racing Live, the horse racing channel, and renamed it as Sport Live. Until now, the channel, which has around 20,000 subscribers, has only been an ‘opt-in’ channel on various distributors in Denmark.

Sport Live is currently listed on the Canal Digital website at a subscription price of DKK29 (€3.82/$4.23) per month on top of a customer’s existing television subscription packages.
