DAZN Group, the global sports subscription service and media company that last week announced $4.3bn (€3.8bn) worth of financial backing from its owner Access Industries, reported a loss of $1.3bn in 2020, as recently filed accounts show.

The loss came despite broadcast rights costs in 2020 falling to just shy of $1.2bn - down from the restated 2019 figure of $1.71bn - amid rebates received and terminations enacted following the impact of the Covid-19 shutdown on live sport.
