Sports streaming service DAZN has agreed a deal with the Rio de Janeiro Basketball Federation to provide coverage in Brazil of Campeonato Estadual games played between Flamengo, Botafogo and Niterói.
Brazilian sports news website Maquina do Esporte reported that the deal will begin with the first-round game between Flamengo and Botafogo on September 6.
DAZN recently partnered with Flamengo to showcase the club’s basketball and football teams in a seven-part, behind-the-scenes documentary.
DAZN launched in Brazil in May, with its rights portfolio including properties such as football’s Italian Serie A, Serie B and Supercoppa Italiana; English FA Cup; French Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and Coupe de France; Major League Soccer and Japan’s J-League. Other sports include women’s tennis from the WTA, basketball’s EuroLeague and the IndyCar motor-racing series.
