Digi gives Bundesliga platform in Czech Republic, Slovakia

Direct-to-home and IPTV platform Digi has acquired rights for German football’s Bundesliga in Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The rights will cover the remainder of the current season and the next three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.

Coverage will be provided on the Digi Sport 2 HD and Digi Sport 3 HD channels, which are part of the company’s sports packages – Sport and Sport Plus.

Digi agreed the deal with the Pragosport agency, which has been trying to sell the rights for well over a year, leaving the Bundesliga without a broadcast partner in the two countries so far this season.

Digi's coverage will begin this Sunday with Borussia Dortmund v Eintracht Frankfurt kicking off at 6pm local time in the two countries.
