Discovery lands multi-territory Extreme E rights in three-year deal

International media group Discovery has acquired rights to Extreme E, the electric off-road motor racing series, for the 2021-23 cycle.

The three-year agreement, commencing with Extreme E’s inaugural season next year, will see the series screened in over 50 European markets on Eurosport, and in North America via subscription streaming service MotorTrend.

Coverage will feature live race action, highlights shows and on-demand access, delivered in local languages.

Extreme E’s agreement with Eurosport is the latest in a slew of deals already agreed by the start-up series, including with the BBC (UK), Fox Sports (United States, Canada and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and Australia), Mediaset (Italy), Sony India (Indian subcontinent), and  China Sports Zhibo.tv (China),
