EHF strikes Hungarian rights deal with AMC Networks

AMC Networks International-Central Europe, the central European division of US entertainment company AMC Networks, has acquired rights in Hungary to broadcast various events operated by the European Handball Federation.

The length of the deal was not disclosed, but it will cover the men’s and women’s Champions League club competition as well as all other EHF European Cup events, starting from the 2015-16 season.

Hungarian television channels Sport1 and Sport2 will broadcast live coverage of at least 130 games per season, including all matches involving teams based in the country.

Sport1 and Sport2 will also produce additional programming to support the live broadcasts.
