Eleven bolsters football portfolio in Portugal

Pay-television broadcaster Eleven Sports has acquired rights in Portugal for a variety of football properties, including the top divisions in Germany, Belgium and Scotland.

The live and exclusive rights include the German Bundesliga and German Supercup from the 2019-20 season, as well as the Scottish Premiership, Belgian Pro League and Belgian Supercup from the 2018-19 campaign. The agreements will all run for two seasons.

Eleven has also secured rights to show programming from the official channel of English Premier League football club Arsenal from the start of the 2018-19 season.

Eleven entered the Portuguese market in May by acquiring exclusive rights to the Uefa Champions League, Spanish LaLiga and French Ligue 1 football tournaments.

Eleven recently agreed a carriage deal with Portuguese telco Nowo.
