Eleven scores EuroHockey rights in five countries

International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network has acquired rights in Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Singapore and Taiwan for the Euro Hockey League club tournament and the EuroHockey Championships national team competition.

Eleven has agreed a five-year deal with the Mediapro agency to show coverage of the two competitions, which are operated by the European Hockey Federation.

The broadcaster will hold live and exclusive rights to the Euro Hockey League for the 2016-17 to 2020-21 seasons, as well as the 2019 and 2021 EuroHockey Championships.

“This agreement is a significant milestone for Eleven as it means we will bring hockey to our fans in all our markets for the first time,” Danny Menken, group managing director of Eleven Sports Network, said.

The 2016-17 Euro Hockey League season got underway last weekend. The 2019 edition of the EuroHockey Championships will take place in Antwerp, Belgium.
