Eleven Sports bolsters Belgian content, signs SFR carriage deal

International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network has agreed a multi-year deal for rights in Belgium to Spanish cycling race the Vuelta a Burgos, while it has signed another carriage deal in the country.

The deal for the five-day cycling tour held in northern Spain has been signed with the Simply Sport agency and encompasses television, online and mobile rights.

Part of the International Cycling Union’s UCI Europe Tour, the Vuelta a Burgos this year takes place from August 2-6, with the 675km race route split across four road stages and a team time-trial. Estonia’s Rein Taaramäe (pictured) is the reigning champion.

Meanwhile, Eleven Sports Network has struck a multi-year distribution agreement with telecommunications firm SFR Belgium to broadcast its Eleven and Eleven Sports channels.

From August 1, SFR Belgium subscribers will have access to the two channels via their set-top box. HD broadcasts will be provided with French and Flemish commentary on Eleven, a channel dedicated exclusively to football, and multi-sport channel, Eleven Sports.

Both channels are also available in Belgium through Proximus TV, Telenet, VOO and Orange.
