Eleven Sports, Sport1 pick up Drone Champions League rights

International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports and German sports broadcaster Sport1 have acquired rights to the Drone Champions League (DCL).

Eleven will deliver live and exclusive coverage of the remaining five events of the 2017 season to its markets of Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States. Coverage will also be delivered in Luxembourg on a non-exclusive basis.

Eleven will also show a 26-minute magazine show linked to each round. The programme will feature exclusive clips, news footage and interviews from each participating team.

The 2017 DCL season continues with an event in Vaduz, Liechtenstein on September 2-3. Brussels, Belgium will stage a race on September 23-24 before Romania’s Salina Turda Caves plays host on October 13-14. A to-be-determined event will take place in November before the season concludes in the German capital of Berlin on December 2-3.

Eleven will co-organise the Brussels event, employing several activations around the venue and across the city.

Meanwhile, Sport1 will show live coverage of the Vaduz event on its website and through video-sharing platform YouTube. Sport1 will also show a highlights programme of the event on September 3.
