Belgian commercial broadcaster RTL has entered into a strategic partnership with international sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network, through which it will be granted rights to show live coverage of Serie A, the top division of club football in Italy.
Live matches will be shown via the Club RTL channel, which will also air Eleven’s weekly European football review programme, Eleven United. The content will be available in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Starting from September 11, one live Serie A match will be shown on Club RTL each week. Eleven United also includes highlights from the Spanish LaLiga, French Ligue 1 and English FA Cup.
“This agreement brings the number of football matches that we will broadcast during the 16-17 season on Club RTL to more than 100, which is exceptional for a general-interest channel,” Laurent Haulotte, head of news and sports at RTL Belgium, said.
