Eleven to ‘change direction’ in Singapore

Pay-television broadcaster Eleven Sports Network’s carriage deals with Singaporean telco Singtel and Mediacorp’s Toggle online platform will reportedly conclude on July 20.

According to The Drum, the deals will conclude in their “current form”.

Eleven Sports’ managing director in Singapore, Shalu Wasu, said: “There is an exciting change in our direction in Singapore while we continue to expand elsewhere.”

Eleven went live on Singtel TV in 2015. A year later, Eleven struck a deal with Singtel to show football’s English Premier League through to 2019 on a new channel, Eleven Plus.

However, Eleven curtailed the deal in 2017, with Eleven Plus taken off air, although its two other channels remained on the platform.

In April, Eleven acquired rights in Singapore to the 2018 season of the country’s top-tier Premier League football competition. Eleven also showed coverage of the Pyeongchang winter Olympic Games in Singapore earlier this year.
