ESPN extends Women’s NBA deal

US pay-television broadcaster ESPN has extended a rights deal for the Women’s NBA basketball league in North America.

The extension covers six seasons, from 2017 to 2022.

Up to 30 games per season will be shown live on ESPN, ESPN2, the ABC network and the WatchESPN service, which allows viewers to access coverage via online and mobile platforms as well as via Xbox Live games consoles.

The coverage will include the conference finals, finals, draft and all-star game.

ESPN has broadcast the Women’s NBA since its inaugural season in 1997.
