Eurosport cues up O’Sullivan partnership

Reigning world and Masters snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan has agreed a deal to become a global ambassador for pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport.

O’Sullivan and Eurosport will work together to help drive the sport’s international appeal. Central to the collaboration is the production of an exclusive television series.

‘The Ronnie O’Sullivan Show’ will debut on the opening day of the Players Championship Grand Final on March 25 and the second edition will be broadcast on April 16, when O’Sullivan will be in Sheffield in defence of his world title.

The show will include tournament previews, snooker techniques and masterclasses as well as interviews with snooker players and stars from other sports. It will be broadcast by Eurosport in 54 countries across Europe.

Additionally, O’Sullivan will contribute a blog on the Eurosport.com network of websites during the 2014 World Snooker Championship, which is one of 19 tournaments shown every season by Eurosport.

Arnaud Simon, Eurosport Group’s TV content director, said: “Ronnie is snooker for millions of fans across Europe, he is the player they see as the superstar of the game and we have worked hard to create this opportunity with him to produce an exclusive series of programmes for our passionate and increasingly knowledgeable snooker audience.”
