Fifa launches sales process in Greece for World Cup rights

Fifa, football’s global governing body, has launched an invitation to tender in Greece for the rights to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The rights will cover television, internet, mobile and radio coverage.

The governing body said that it would aim to “select the media companies that are best placed to operationally secure the required transmission commitments and to achieve Fifa’s objectives of reaching the widest possible audience and providing a high-quality viewing experience for fans.”

Following a question-and-answer period from June 29 to July 18, bids are due in by 11am CET on July 19. Negotiations with shortlisted bidders will commence the following day.
